Editorial policy & methodology

Our approach

CarsQuoters publishes plain-English educational content to help people understand insurance. Our goal is to be useful, accurate, and unbiased — not to sell any particular carrier's policy.

Sources we rely on

  • National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC)
  • Insurance Information Institute (III)
  • State Departments of Insurance and consumer guides
  • Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and IBHS for property-resilience data
  • FEMA / National Flood Insurance Program for flood-related guidance

How our guides are written and reviewed

Every guide is written to answer a specific reader question directly, with each factual claim tied to a primary source above. Drafts are checked for accuracy against current NAIC, III, state Department of Insurance, and FEMA guidance before publishing, and re-checked when rules or market conditions change.

We are adding a licensed property & casualty professional to formally review our coverage guides; each reviewed article will carry a visible "Reviewed by" credit and reviewer credentials. Until that review is in place, our content should be treated as general education (see below) rather than professional advice.

General education, not advice

Our articles are for general informational purposes only and are not insurance, legal, or financial advice. Coverage details, availability, and pricing depend on your specific situation and the carrier you choose. Always read your policy and consult a licensed agent for advice about your particular needs.

Accuracy and updates

We review our guides periodically to keep them accurate as the insurance landscape changes. Each article shows when it was last updated.

Corrections

If you find an error in any of our content, please email contact@carsquoters.com. We'll review and update promptly.

Editorial independence

Our content exists to help drivers understand their coverage. We do not sell insurance or personal information, and commercial incentives do not determine our guidance.
